Survey Part 1: All About you!

I'd like to get some feedback. If you wouldn't mind answering a few questions, I'd appreciate it. Some of you are curious about me and I'm curious about some of you. I've been doing this awhile now and I guess I always wished the whole author/reader thing could be a little more interactive than circumstances allow.

I'm a people person.

Anyway, this won't take long and you may even enjoy it. Please be honest, the results will be more meaningful that way and who knows? It may even help me decide what the hell I'm going to do next. I'm catholic, you know?

Here's the Survey

Alrighty then, here's the questions and there aren't very many. I'll probably add more as I think of them, but basically I just want to know who's reading and what you think about my website. The poll questions are off the top of my head and I suppose I should spend ten minutes coming up with a decent plan, but being a hobby and not work...I really want to take the simplest approach.

What year is it?

That's kind of a practice question, but it does let me know how many visitors I have in a given year since I'm going to "fire and forget" this page, I hope, and only check results periodically and probably rant about them. I'm setting the "polls closed" option at 31 Dec 2015…I think.

Let’s start with demographics, huh? What’s your gender? Are you…

What’s your sexual orientation?

How old are you?

What’s your educational background?

At what age did you become interested in erotica/porn?

Attempting to draw a meaningless corollary…At what age did you begin to masturbate?

Just out of curiosity, at what age did you have your first sexual experience with another person? (A dog counts as a person here)

I had my first sexual experience of any sort with a dog when I was 13 years old. He licked me and I jerked him off with my thighs (let him hump me) and shortly after losing my virginity to a boy at 14, I let my dog have me…The dog was way better at sex, believe me!

And finally, to complete my abbreviated version of the Kinsey Report, at what age did you experience sexual intercourse for the first time? (Dogs count only if you were madly in love at the time)

One last question about your sexuality. Do you masturbate while reading erotic / porn fiction? (Mine or anyone else’s)

A guy told me once that he “joined the mile-high-club” by jerking off to my stories on an airplane. Isn’t that romantic?
Okay, the following questions apply to what you like to READ more than just look at. I’m not saying they can’t be the same thing, but I’m an author. So…

What is your favorite fetish?

What is your favorite genre?

I’ll write about any fetish in any genre, but I really like Science Fiction and Romance the most, preferably at the same time. Teen, angst-filled robots are so awesome!

Generally speaking, what’s MOST important to your enjoyment of EROTIC fiction?

Which of the following has the MOST influence on the erotica you choose to read?

What year did you first read a story of mine? (under any pen name)

If you've been reading me since before 2001 then you shouldn't be taking my poll, you should be making an appointment with a psychiatrist...

On the other hand, I am working on a time machine in my spare time so who knows? I could be posting in 18th century France someday in the near future.

How often do you offer feedback to authors whose work you enjoy?

When you have emailed an author, have you gotten a reply?

Sometimes, very rarely, I get emails that say, “I emailed you, rache, and you never wrote me back! What’s up with that?” It’s totally my fault and I apologize, but I do try and answer all my mail in a timely manner. Sometimes things slip through the cracks though, especially with my schedule and it’s a lame excuse, I know. I’m sorry and I’m not ignoring anyone, believe me. I get a lot of email, I travel all the time, I work and have a husband, and life happens to all of us.

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Okay, enough about me…Let's talk about my site!

Would you say the layout of my website is…

The VBE pages are really…

The thing I like the LEAST about your site is…

The thing I like MOST about your site is…

Did you answer all the questions honestly?

Okay, I lied…One more question I just thought of…Where have you predominantly read or currently prefer to read my stories?

Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions and I hope they weren't too annoying or invasive. I'm a sucker for surveys and text boxes, so…I'm into it anyway. I appreciate your interest and I'm very totally glad you made it this far. I wish I could give you a big hug or some cotton candy or a blowjob, but we're kinda stuck in tangible rewards limbo for the moment.

Maybe in another life I'll be selling cotton candy at the county fair, between the pony rides and the ring-the-bell-with-the-big-hammer thing (is there a name for that?) and our eyes will meet and we'll share an intimate moment of unexplained déjà vu that will leave us both scratching our heads and smiling with mild embarrassment.

I'm looking forward to it.

Best always!
rache

  1. Hey Rachel - filled out your survey a few days ago, but forgot to comment. Love the site, but that's not surprising (to me, at least). Be well. - Landon

  2. You are one cwazy wabbit!
But then dicks are for chicks, or is that vice versa?

Love your writing. Please, don't ever stop.

    Cheers.

  3. You may not write as well as some, but you're better than most by far and nobody, absolutely nobody hits the characters like you do. I love the website and hope you keep writing forever!

  4. It really would be nice if when you add new material and refer to it on the What's New page, you could give some sort of hint where to find it. It's very frustrating to have to click through every page looking.

  5. SOL's website is much EASIER to read. ASSTR is too junky. Too junky. That brings everyone down because of the color/contrast choices. Either that or all authors think they're artists. Ugh.

Knocking up mom and sis stories suck. Always use the "preg" choice so that I can avoid. I have really admired some of your dark stories.

  6. Hey, thanks for comments. The "What's New" page doesn't work to well, not even for me as I envisioned it. I didn't really plan on going crazy with VBE either and stories have gotten stuffed into out of the way places. What I plan on doing in the future is when a page is added or updated, I'll make a direct link to it on the "What's New" page, so we can go straight to it if we want. That's something I should have done before and even considered it, but I was always in a rush and cutting corners just doesn't work! Silly me.

    Sorry about that!

    thanks again! rache

  7. BTW, without making an "ought" assessment of what kind of nation the United States (or any other) OUGHT to be: "One nation under God" dates from a bit after WWII; "In God We Trust" probably originated circa the war of 1812; "separation of Church and State" tracks to 1802; and "wall of separation", 1644. The original three mottoes of the US from the 1782 Great Seal were the "E pluribus unum" (From many, one; presumably not a trinitarian reference, given the unitarian leavings of several founders), "Novus ordo seclorum" (A new order for the ages; tracing to Virgil, but presumably not a reference to the Greek gods); and "Annuit cœptis" (He has approved the undertaking; generally taken to refer to divine providence, but more circumspect and ambiguous in the wording). You might or might not find it interesting to feed them all into the Google NGram viewer and compare.

The US national attitude on religion has been a bit schizophrenic in one way and another for most of its history. However, an argument from tradition/authority based on the "In God We Trust" works best on those ignorant of the larger scope of US history, or on those predisposed to accept it on an "ought" basis and/or starting premise in the first place.

  8. I hope you give us some more of your great stories again sometime, when you're ready. Rache is the God of Porn!

  9. Do you also do non-erotica writing? I hope so... you really have talent maybe mass market would be profitable.

Also for some reason I think I picked up that you are/were dealing with cancer. If so my prayers are with you.

I would have never guessed women could really "get" erotica... but whew, you proved me wrong. Now I'm ready to say they may even get it "better".

  10. Rache, I Love you!

I'm definitely one of your early readers (pre 2001) and now that I have wifi from my padded cell I can catch up on your new stuff. Your sense of humor and irony are awesome and will always have me coming back for more. Thank you.

  11. Rache,
Thanks for sharing your terrific writing skills, incredible imagination, and great sense of humor. I also hope very much that you are feeling better, and that you were able to attend that Rammstein concert you were bragging about scoring tickets to. Ramstein rules! What other german band sings in Deutsch, English and Spanish......!Te quiero puta! Have you seen the x-rated video version of "Pussy" off their latest album.......smokin! Wishing you the best of all things, Jim (hesdedjim)

  13. Love your stories. Just recently found your website & am making my way through it. Just recently finished Bad Girls & it's too bad it wasn't continued. I liked the unique plot & the writing.
Please keep writing your stories. I enjoy them alot.

  14. You explore some things I had never thought of, such as teenage robots. The beauty of your writing is that you proofread and edit your stuff so that I don't find myself being distracted by poor spelling and usage. In the free erotica world that's rare.

A few problems with your site:

    a) The frames presentation makes it hard just to read the plain story on a simple page, without the menu. Occasionally I have hit upon the non frames version.=, but I lost that link (sigh!).

    b) It's not well linked to ASSTR.

  15. Rachael – Absolutely the top of the erotica genre. Terrific character development and the interplay between them. I've wondered how you might do as a serious literary writer...Please doesn’t take that wrong way. Personally, I prefer the non-consensual relationship in the stories but you do that fine too. Please keep it coming!

  16. hi Rachael
i am not sure if you are still around or in a better place (no pain, no hassle and all the love you need).
i read up to now about 60 of your stories, skimmed another 20 or 30 and decided not to open some others. i loved and cried over 21 of them liked another 32 and disliked the rest, no story of yours left me cold the all affected me one or another way.
i wish i had started to read your stories sooner, but, this is life.
    yours peter

  17. I only read one story of yours(from darkwanderer.net) called Page Sixty Nine about a couple who rented out part of their house to what turned out to be a shemale who dominated them both and attempted to impregnate the wife, as the couple was trying to conceive.

Shemale stories aren't my "druther" but the way that the story was written was quite entertaining. I don't remember exactly how I connected to your website, but I did, and I appreciate your literary talents very much. Too little erotic literature is so poorly written....yours are an exception.

I'm a songwriter, so my stuff is reduced to about 3 minutes to tell the story, though I may write later in life, novel, short story. Have dabbled a bit in erotic stories, with real people in my life in a fictional situation. If they only knew. LOL

Maybe some day I'll start writing erotic limericks. ;)

Thanks for all that you do, Rachael!

  18. When I occasionally do contact an author, it is to compliment them on their composition. I usually do get a response. You were no exception. You're a great writer, an original mind, quite possibly the Kerouac of erotic literature in my humble opinion.

  19. A Big Kiss for the emotional time you give me with your storys. I wish for you to get totaly well again.

  20. Rache I just read "Betsy's Best Intentions" and really liked it. I didn't get much of a boner. Now I found your web page and I love it. Now I can read more of your stuff. Maybe I'll get really hard and beat off for a while. Anyway, great job. When do I get a chance to meet you?

  24. I love your stories. I was very sad to read you were dead back in 2008 or 2009. I hope the rumors were false. Then again you almost never check this site [yes dear, I was paying attention] so if you be dead I greave, if you live then I rejoice. Then again you may just be a pen name so it mattereth not.

You have inspired me. You have aroused me. I thank you. What else can I say???
